Biblical Worldview Summit Camp
January 2011

Dear Actionite

My heart sinks once again as I hear those tragic words: "I grew up in a Christian home...but what I am studying here at Varsity has caused me to change what I believe..." Statistically, 75% of young people from Christian homes who enroll at university are lost to the church within 4 years. In doing one-on-one evangelism at Rhodes University and UCT, I have met some of these heartbreaking statistics! If any army was to lose three quarters of its forces it would not be considered a defeat - but a disaster.

The Biblical Worldview Summit has been designed to equip learners/students with the facts and the skills they need to deal with humanism and evolutionism. The Summit is a crash course to enable students to understand and articulate the Christian worldview, to enable them to answer the toughest questions and to practically prepare them so that they can respond to every challenge to their Christian faith with confidence.

Since 1991, Frontline Fellowship and Africa Christian Action have been conducting Biblical Worldview Seminars and Summits in South Africa. BWS's have now also been conducted in Zambia, Namibia, Malawi, Nigeria, Romania, Congo, Sudan, Zimbabwe and the USA. The Biblical Worldview Manual has gone through 8 revisions and is in demand on 5 continents.

Please see below for more information or click here.

We would be most grateful if you could help us promote the Biblical Worldview Summit Camp to  your congregation, friends  and contacts. Pamphlets can be emailed or posted to you on request.

BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW SUMMIT 2011, Cape Town

(7-14 January 2011)

"They that wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount on wings like eagles."    Isaiah 40:31

The Biblical Worldview Summit is designed for young people (ages 15 - 25) who want to change their world - by applying the Lordship of Christ to every area of life.

"See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ."   Colossians 2:8

Do you want to change your world for Christ?

  • The Summit practically prepares young people to deal with the issues, temptations and pressures of high school and university.
  • Young people are equipped with the facts and skills they need to deal with Humanism and Evolutionism.
  • The Summit applies the Lordship of Christ to all areas of life.
  • Those who understand the ideas that rule the world will have the opportunity to influence the world of ideas.

"Since today's young people will be tomorrow's leaders, it behooves us to shape the next generation into responsible, moral citizens who will lead our world aright. Summit Ministries is an important resource that can accomplish this vital task."  Dr. Ollie Gibbs, Vice President Association of Christian Schools International.

Is Revival the prayer of your heart?

Summit Ministries focuses on life-changing ideas. Everyone has a "worldview", a way of interpreting everything that happens in the world. The Bible has an explanation for the universe, but so do Secular Humanism, Evolutionism and the New Age Movement. Each of these worldviews is founded on ideas. Ideas have far reaching consequences.

We see much of the world becoming worse because the Church is not practically involved. We need to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. We need to show the world that the Christian Faith makes a positive difference in every area of life.

It is time to reclaim our Christian heritage and to demonstrate to the world that the Bible has the best answers to society's most pressing problems.

To do this, we need to understand the times in which we live and learn to effectively defend and clearly communicate the Gospel to a needy world.

"My own son was one of those who came face to face with a Biblical worldview at the Summit.  It was by far one of the most significant conferences he has ever attended.  The impact will affect Sean for the rest of his life."  Josh McDowell

"I consider Summit Ministries to be one of the very best resources available, and I don't say that lightly..."  Dr. James Dobson, Focus on the Family

Outdoor Activities and Sports

The Summit will be held at Back to Basics Campsite near Grabouw. It is situated in a forest among mountains, near a lake.  Accommodation will be in tents.  There will be daily opportunities for hiking, obstacle crossing, problem solving and other team building challenges in the forest and water sports in the lake.  We also plan to put feet to our faith with outreaches in the area.  This will be an intense and challenging outdoor adventure experience stretching minds and muscles.

Summit Ministries was founded in Colorado by Dr. David Noebel (author of "Mind Siege", "The Battle for Truth" and "Understanding the Times") in 1962. The Summit is geared especially for senior high school students and university students.

Summit helps young people realise their God given potential to take positive action to change their world for Christ. This is accomplished through a unique programme of: guest lecturers, international speakers, authors and key leaders in their fields, special video presentations from all over the world, discussion groups, practicals, outreaches, outdoor activities, projects and interaction with others determined to make an impact on the world for Christ. Detailed manuals, textbooks and lecture notes are provided as part of the course.

International speakers at the Summit 2011 near Cape Town include: Dr. Peter Hammond - Founder and Director of Frontline Fellowship, pioneer missionary to Mozambique, Angola and Sudan; Philip Stott - Engineer and International Creation Science lecturer and Rev Greg Dennyschen - International Authority on the New Age Movement and Deliverance.

This course aims to give young people:

Confidence in their abilities

Great Christian friendships

An understanding of the forces shaping their world

A positive defence of their Faith

Motivation to make a difference

Biblical direction in their life

"Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2

" ...every summer Summit packs in high school students who want to learn how to defend their faith against the ideological trends of the day... teaching them how to deal with the intellectual challenges they face in high school and college."  Chuck Colson, President, Prison Fellowship Ministry
