CHRISTIAN ACTION WOMEN'S DAY EXHIBITIONS REFUSED BY MALL MANAGERSAfter conducting Women's Day outreaches in Canal Walk for 8 years and Somerset Mall for 12 years in a row, the mall managers have suddenly turned us down. It appears they are now reluctant to accept any overtly religious organisations or any charities not on their "approved list". We have contacted 7 other malls and have received negative responses from 4. We are waiting for responses from 3 of them. Please pray for favour with the mall managers. Perhaps you may want to communicate with the managers of your favourite mall concerning the need to invite a charity that opposes the exploitation and abuse of women to set up a display on National Women's Day, 9 August. We hope to be at one mall in the northern suburbs and one in the southern suburbs, in Cape Town. The third outreach is taking place at a Khayelitsha shopping centre. Since 1995, every National Women's Day, Africa Christian Action has received overwhelmingly positive responses from many thousands of shoppers to our exhibits. Shoppers have always expressed great appreciation for the pro-women displays and the thousands of colourful balloons freely distributed to children. When possible we have also distributed flowers to women in the malls. Some of our mission workers have been manning these tables every year since 1995 and we cannot recall a single hostile response. Rather we remember many hundreds of positive and frequently enthusiastic expressions of appreciation from shoppers. We are sensitive to the concerns of any shopping mall and work very hard to ensure that the displays are attractive, appropriate and effective. We are eager to respect the standards and policies of any shopping mall that is willing to host such Women's Day displays. Volunteers Needed for Women's Day Outreaches (Tuesday, 9 August)We will be distributing free literature from our tables to all interested people. The literature will focus on issues dealing with the protection of women from abuse and exploitation and the importance of building strong families for the future of our country. Free balloons, with pro-family messages and Scripture on them will be distributed to children - this has proved to be a huge attraction in the past. Funds allowing, free roses will be given to women. We will slot you in at a time that is convenient for you. If possible, join us for a morning, or afternoon shift. If you are planning a display or outreach in your area, please let us know. Tracts and Christian Action magazines are available for your Women's Day event! Please contact us for a Tracts Order Form or download tracts from here .
