Submissions on Zoning, Licensing and Regulation of Sex Shops etc to local city councils

We believe that prostitution, pornography and prostitution-related businesses like sex shops, escort agencies, steam baths, massage parlours, strip clubs should be illegal. They are in opposition to God's law and are exploitative and destructive. However, local city councils are unable to ban these them because national government makes those laws. Instead, like cities around the world, city councils limit sexually oriented businesses (SOBs), and the secondary harmful effects (increased crime, decreased property prices etc) they cause through zoning, licensing and other regulations. Cape Town is the first city to go through the process. These submissions were made by concerned Christians to the Cape Town Council and were well recieved. They could be adapted and used by other cities in South Africa when those cities consider the zoning of SOBs. There will also be further opportunities to make presentations to the Cape Town Council possibly in July or August 2003.
