Practical Steps to Reformation
We want God to bless our nation – but God cannot bless a nation in rebellion to His Laws.  We cannot expect God to bless a country that kills babies – legally - with tax payers money, which legalises and tolerates blasphemy as entertainment and which removes Bible education from the public schools.

“See the trouble we are in:  Jerusalem lies in ruins and its gates have been burned with fire.  Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace.” Nehemiah 2:17

Working for Reformation by Establishing a Christian Calendar:

  1. Start the year with the Summit Youth Leadership Training. Invest in young people by providing them with a dynamic programme of Worldview training.

  2. Celebrate Sanctity of Life Sunday by preaching on the Sanctity of Life – closest Sunday to 1 February.

  3. Observe the anniversary of the legalisation of abortion on demand in South Africa (1 February) as National Day of Repentance.

  4. Attend the KwaSizabantu Minister’s Conference in Kwa-Zulu Natal ( March, every second year).

  5. Use Human Rights Day as an opportunity to campaign for the most basic right of all – the right to life of the most helpless and innocent of all – pre-born babies.

  6. Observe Good Friday as the most solemn holiday of the year contemplating the sacrifice of Christ that redeemed us from our sins.

  7. Celebrate Resurrection Sunday as the most joyous holiday of theyear. We serve a risen Saviour.  Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life.

  8. Celebrate Ascension Day.  Forty days after Easter Sunday, Jesus ascended into Heaven. He is King of kings and Lord of lords.  He has all authority in Heaven and on earth.  We must therefore go and make disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey all things that the Lord has commanded.

  9. Celebrate Pentecost Sunday – the official birthday of the Church. And we need to continually go on being filled with the Holy Spirit.

  10. Sponsor missionary candidates to participate in the Great Commission Course, held by Frontline Fellowship in Cape Town (January).

  11. Use National Women’s Day (9 August) as an opportunity to campaign against the exploitative pornography industry.

  12. Promote International Life Chain Sunday (the first Sunday in October) with a prayer vigil and placard protest against abortion at a busy intersection in your city.

  13. Celebrate Reformation Day (31 October) either by participating in the Reformation Celebration in Cape Town or by organising a special seminar or service at your church or school.

  14. Observe the International Day of Prayer (IDOP) for the Persecuted Church (second Sunday in November) each year.

  15. Celebrate Christmas as the official birthday of the King of Kings. Remind family and friends that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.  Wise men still seek Him.  Christmas is a great time for evangelism, reaching out to the poor and lonely, for Christ centred Christmas cards to relatives and witnessing to strangers.  Put Christ back into Xmas.
