"You should not worship on Sundays - Saturday is the Sabbath."

Print

Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Thank you very much for your encouraging letter. Yes, we are familiar with the Seventh Day Adventist arguments concerning Saturday as the Sabbath.

Of course, the seventh day of the week, was the Sabbath in the Old Testament. However, you will immediately see from the New Testament that the Church moved from observing the seventh day of the week in memory of Creation, to the first day of the week as the Lord's Day, in memory of the Lord's re-creation - rising from the dead on the first day of the week.

Yes, believers in the book of Acts did sometimes go to Synagogues on the Sabbath for evangelism, but that is because that is the day that the Jewish believers gathered. However, the Christians gathered on the Lord's Day, the first day of the week (Acts 20:7; 1 Corinthians 16:2; Revelation 1:10) for worship.

Please let me know your postal address and I will gladly mail you some more material on this.

We have completed a book: The Ten Commandments - God's Perfect Law of Liberty, the 12 Disc Audio Box Set is already available.

The Ten Commandments fully deals with the idolatry and compromise so prevalent in our world today.

May the Lord continue to be your joy and strength.

Yours for Faith and freedom
