Thank you for your letter. We do appreciate you critical feedback.

It most certainly is on irrefutable fact that millions of Christians were put to death in the Soviet Union in the name of Atheism. Have you read The Black Book of Communism and Death By Government? I would strongly recommend that you do. These books were not written by Christians. In the case of Death By Government it is written by a Secular university professor in Political Science, based on exhaustive documentation. The Black Book of Communism was written by six high level ex-Communists, including the one-time Editor of the Communisme magazine of the Communist Party of France.

I think you are misinformed if you believe that we adhere to a "religion that thrives in its hatreds."

In fact, the Lord Jesus Christ, Whom we seek to honour and serve, taught in His Sermon on the Mount that we are to love our neighbours as ourselves, and even to love our enemies.

It is a fact of history that Christians have led the world in establishing hospitals, schools, the nursing profession, and the movement to abolish the slave trade and to oppose other evils such as abortion and infanticide.

It is an observable fact that it is in those countries where Biblical Christianity has made the greatest impact, that one finds the greatest progress, prosperity and freedoms.

We are not promoting here a religion, but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

We certainly must agree with you that much evil has been done in the name of religion, particularly in the name of Islam. However, while many evil things have been done by some people who claim to be Christians, it should be obvious that what they did was contrary to the teaching and example of our Lord Jesus Christ, in violation of His clear commands.

You observe that "Stalin's religion was predominantly self-interest", and again we must agree. For Secular Humanism leaves one with basically nothing but self-interest. "You came from nothing, you're going nowhere, your life is meaningless." Atheism hardly encourages Christian self-sacrifice.

As Joseph Stalin himself said: "Evolution leads to revolution!"
