Networking

For the glory of God and in obedience to the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Christian Action Network seeks to encourage co-operation between its members and affiliates to make disciples of the nations; teaching obedience to all things that the Lord has commanded.

Mobilisation

The Christian Action Network is an umbrella organization - consisting of 77 member organisations - which seeks to work for Reformation and pray for Revival, providing resources and mobilising Christians throughout Africa.

Media and Morals

As an umbrella organization we speak to politicians and the media on the issues of the day. CAN regularly issues press releases on social and moral issues and organises submissions and presentations to governments and parliamentary groups.

Leadership Training

We are committed to working and praying for Reformation and Revival in Africa and host Biblical Worldview Seminars, Reformation and Revival Seminars, and God and Government Seminars throughout Africa.

Africa for Christ

The Network includes members from 14 different African nations (South Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda) and also one Africa-related ministry based in the UK. The Affiliate and Established members of the Network represent well over 3,000 congregations, or ministries, and 700,000 Christians.

Magazine

CAN publishes the Christian Action magazine quarterly. All CAN members receive both the Christian Action magazine and the Frontline Fellowship News by post.

Libraries for Pastors

Although we receive more requests for literature than we are able respond to, we regularly deliver boxes of books and audio-visual resources to CAN members via missionary visits to Zambia and Malawi.

Whenever new books by Dr Peter Hammond are published, they are posted to members. Several ministries have started a library for pastors in their network as a result of these book donations including Rural Areas Ministry, a network of 21 churches and an orphanage in the rural area of Kafue in South-Eastern Zambia.

In Chipata, Zambia, Pastor Joel Kapasa of Divine Apostles Ministries has impacted other pastors in his area through organising pastors' seminars at which our missionaries have ministered.

Equipping Teachers

Numerous CAN members are involved in running Christian schools and have greatly benefited from our Christian Teachers Training Manual. We have conducted Teachers Training Seminars on request by local Christian schools.

Impacting Young People

The Daughters of Sarah Ministry hosted a Biblical Worldview Seminar in Jos, Nigeria for which over 1000 people registered. Six of their leaders have attended our Biblical Worldview Summit in Cape Town. Daughters of Sarah and Sons of Promise run True Love Waits Clubs, where they regularly minister to thousands of young people, particularly in the area of purity.

Pastor Joshua Tay of Errand for Jesus Team Ministries in Accra, Ghana, leads and trains teams of youth ministers who regularly minister at youth rallies and schools through teaching on pro-life and pro-family issues, and through film evangelism and Bible Study groups.

Zambia for Christ

Members of CAN have met with the leaders of political parties, cabinet members and the president, discussing Biblical principles, handing over God-honouring books, CDs and DVDs and praying with these leaders.

Evangelism & Discipleship

Reconciliation Ministries in Chongwe, Zambia, has translated several of our tracts into their local languages and have even developed their own tract in Chichewa comparing the Quran with the Bible for Muslim evangelism. Pastor Reuben Mwale regularly distributes our books to government officials and ministers to them.

Many of the ministries that are part of CAN are regularly holding evangelistic crusades in their local and neighbouring countries and report hundreds making commitments to Christ. Many new churches have been planted as a result. We regularly mail new discipleship materials such as Practical Discipleship and the Discipleship Training Manual to them.

“Proclaim His salvation day after day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among the peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise. He is to be feared above all.”1 Chron 16:23-25
