Nationwide Marches on 16th Anniversary of Legalised Abortion - 31 January 2013

On 1 February 1997 abortion-on-demand was legalised in South Africa. By 1 February 2013 an estimated one million, one hundred thousand South African babies will have lost their lives through abortion - legally - with tax-payers’ money.

The 16th anniversary of the legalisation of abortion-on-demand in South Africa comes in the wake of the 40th anniversary of Roe v Wade in the USA. A record breaking 500 000 pro-lifers took part in the annual March for Life in Washington DC this past Saturday (26 January).

Interestingly, the “Roe” of Roe v Wade and the “Doe” of Doe v Bolton (the two Supreme Court Cases that made abortion legal throughout the USA in all 9 months of pregnancy), are both now outspoken supporters of the pro-life movement.

Cape Town: Tomorrow, Friday, 1 February 2013, a funeral procession will be hosted by the Christian Action Network in memory of the thousands of babies, killed by abortion, who have never had a funeral.

The procession to Parliament will start at 12:30 from Keizersgracht Street parking lot (below CPUT) and march down Darling Street into Buitenkant Street to Parliament (entrance in Roeland St), where a Prayer Rally (12:50) will be held in memory of the innocent victims of the abortion holocaust.

Life vs Abortion: Women available for interviews

A woman who fell pregnant whilst she was trapped in prostitution, will testify at the Prayer Rally that despite her desperate circumstances back then, she is so grateful for her beautiful daughter today. A woman who had an abortion, and can testify to the devastating after-effects, is also available for media interviews.

Obituaries for Aborted Babies

An obituary notice will be placed in the Cape Argus, Cape Times and in Die Burger newspapers in memory of all babies killed by abortion since 1997.

Sanctity Life Sunday

Throughout the country many church congregations and concerned individuals observed 27 January as Sanctity Life Sunday. They reflected on the sad reality of abortion and proclaimed the sanctity of human life.

A pro-life demonstration and prayer rally will take place this weekend in East London and Hammanskraal (near Pretoria), and a march for life will be held in Phoenix, Durban on Saturday, 11 February. (See contact details below).
