The Sound of Freedom film is now available in South Africa
Is there a market for a film exposing human trafficking today?
Over a month ago we contacted Ster Kinekor and Nu Metro, the main cinema chains in South Africa, to enquire when they planned to bring the Sound of Freedom film to South Africa. We were informed that they had no such plans as the was "No market for the film here!"
Mobilisation and Motivation
Through a series of radio programmes, email campaigns and social media posts a group of us persuaded Ster Kinekor and Nu Metro to rethink their position. As their own social media sites blew up with requests and demands for Sound of Freedom, Ster Kinekor and Nu Metro announced that Sound of Freedom was going to be released in South Africa on 18 August.
Perseverance in Standing for Life
On Friday evening, after celebrating 10 years of Abundant Life Ministry with Mark and Dalene Labrum in Tableview, our Christian Action team raced through to Canal Walk to view the first screening of Sound of Freedom in South Africa.
Compelling and Inspiring
based as it is on the true storey of Tim Ballard and his underground railway initiative to rescue slaves from South and Central America, Sound of Freedom is a compelling dramatic film that shines an authentic light on one of the worst criminal horrors of our time: Human trafficking/modern day slavery and the child sex trafficking by paedophiles which so many in Hollywood, the mass media and government would rather ignore – evidently because, like their friends Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein, they are complicit in this colossal crime syndicate. You can view the trailer and learn more about this film on the official Angel Studios website: https://www.angel.com/watch/sound-of-freedom
Courageous Call to Action
Jim Caviezel and Mira Sorvino are to be commended for this courageous and most timely Expose of one the greatest scandals of our time. When the Film concluded the studio audience we were with erupted in applause.
When last did you attend a film which was applauded by the audience?
Numerous of the people there had learned of the film through our Stop the Traffick Leaflets distributed on Women's day: https://www.christianaction.org.za/images/20230802-StopTheTraffick-ScreenVersion96Medium-JF-v1411.pdf
