; 021-689-7478. SEMINAR PROGRAMME: 8:30 Welcome, Tea and Coffee Philip Stott was born in England in 1943. He obtained B.Sc and M.Sc degrees at Manchester University. He also holds doctorates from Reformation International Theological Seminar, Florida, USA, and Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein. He has held lecturing posts at universities in Nigeria and South Africa and given invited lectures at many international venues including the Russian Academy of Sciences in St Petersburg, Russia, and the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland. As an avowed atheist he maintained a passionate interest in science for many years, taking courses in, among other things, Astronomy at UNISA and Biology at the University of the Witwatersrand. He also spent three years doing part-time research in Applied Mathematics at the University of the Free State. After coming to the Lord in 1976, God’s word became the focal point of his life, and he spent several years investigating the apparent contradictions between the Bible and all that he had accepted as an atheist. This led to giving lectures on the relationship between science and scripture. For many years he lectured throughout Europe, Russia and North America, and took part in debates on the reliability of the Bible and the reliability of science as propounded by the atheist establishment. He is at present a research fellow at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein. CHRISTIAN LIBERTY BOOKS | |||||||
